Peregrine Review

The Peregrine Review

The Peregrine Review is a literary journal that publishes poetry, prose, and artwork. We are run by undergraduate English students and housed by the Messiah University's Language, Literature and Writing department. We are committed to publishing exceptional work from wherever it is found. 

Past submissions include, but are not limited to: creative non-fiction, short stories, literary criticism, prints, paintings, sculptures, and photography.

Those who wish to submit to The Peregrine Review can do so by emailing peregrine@messiah.edu.

FAQs

What are the submission guidelines?

Poetry: 50 lines or fewer as a PDF or Word document. One poem per page.

Prose: 10 pages or fewer, doubled-space as a PDF or Word document.

Art and Photography: High-quality scans of artwork, or high-quality photographs of sculptural  work. No submission limit for visual work. 

Can I submit more than one piece of work?

Yes, we encourage creators to submit multiple pieces of quality work.

Where can I find past issues of The Peregrine Review?

Past issues of the journal are published through the Murray Library's online database

How can I obtain a copy of the next edition?

Submit your creative pieces! All contributors whose work is published are guaranteed a free copy of the next edition of The Peregrine Review. (Pick up on Messiah University's campus). 

When will the next edition be published?

Near the end of each spring semester. The Peregrine Review staff hosts a release party for the community and contributors. The program includes readings by select contributors who are invited to share their work at the event. Food and beverages are provided.

Specific details will be emailed to all creators who have submitted work and will be promoted by the Messiah University Language, Literature and Writing department and The Peregrine Review's Instagram account (@thepregrinereview). 

How can I become a Reading Board member?

If you are interested in filling an editing position, contact the Editor-in-Chief at peregrine@messiah.edu, and they will let you know if there are any open spots.

Who is allowed to submit work?

Current Messiah University students. 

We encourage all Messiah University students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and staff, as well as writers and artist not connected to Messiah University.
