The online graduated certificate in STEAM education is designed to enhance competencies in teaching and learning science, technology, engineering, math and 21st century skills.
The online Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) graduate certificate is for educators who wish to enhance their knowledge of and competencies in using 21st century skills for teaching and learning STEAM. Using course and project work focused on communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity in STEAM content areas, the program demonstrates relevant pedagogical approaches to STEAM learning, project design, and grant writing. A distinctive of this program is the emphasis on a holistic understanding of STEAM and its contributions and connections to arts and humanities. Students with Level I or Level II PA teaching certificates will be eligible for the Integrative STEM PDE endorsement upon completion.
Messiah University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education. It is the highest accrediting authority recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for degree-granting colleges and universities located in Pennsylvania, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and several other locations internationally. Messiah’s teaching certification programs are accredited by the PA Department of Education. This certificate meets the requirements for the PDE PK-12 Integrative STEM Education Endorsement for individuals who have Pennsylvania Instructional I or II teacher certification.

The curriculum for the STEAM graduate certificate is designed for busy professionals and includes both theory and field experience.
With Messiah’s no-fee tuition, there are no additional university charges for labs, courses, services or technology. While some programs may involve additional expenses such as materials, travel or other external costs that vary by student, you won’t encounter unexpected fees from Messiah. This approach allows you to clearly understand and plan for the tuition portion of your graduate education.

No-fee tuition per graduate credit hour: $820
Tuition cost for the entire program at the 2026-2027 rate: ranges from $24,600 (30 credits) to $63,960 (78 credits)
M.Ed. students are eligible to apply for federal financial aid. Tuition is subject to annual adjustment; historically, increases have averaged approximately 2-3% per year.
