Murray Library Services for Students and Employees with Disabilities

Wheelchair Access

Murray Library provides the following accommodations to aid individuals in wheelchairs:

  • Elevator access to both floors of the Library
  • Wheelchair accessible restroom facilities on both floors
  • Some computer stations are built to accommodate wheelchairs. Visit the Circulation Desk near the library entrance for information

Material Retrieval

Library staff will assist in retrieving library materials. Search in Primo, the Library catalog, for books you need and fill out a request form for each book.

  1. Log in: Click "Sign in" at the top-right using your MU username/password.
  2. Search for the item: Find what you need. Must be a physical item held by the library.
  3. Open the item’s page: Click the title to view details.
  4. Request it: Click “Place on Hold.”
  5. Submit: Click the "Send Request" button.

You will receive an email when the items are ready for you to pick up (approximately 24 hours). Requested items can be picked up at the Circulation Desk.

Visiting the Library

  • Murray Library offers an accessible entrance and handicap parking spaces. Our visiting the library page has additional information.

Other Accommodations

  • Photocopying services are available on the main floor (entrance level). The photocopier in the copy room next to the Office of Academic Accessibility includes additional accessibility options. 
  • Scanner for digitizing and enlarging is available on the main floor in the copy room next to the Office of Academic Accessibility.

 

The library staff is always willing to assist students with disabilities in any way possible. A student may stop by the Circulation Desk to request assistance.
