Carissa Lane, PT, DPT
- B.S. Science from the University of Wyoming
- Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University
Dr. Lane is a physical therapist and educator with specialized expertise in neuromuscular rehabilitation and prosthetics and orthotics education within physical therapy programs. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University.
She began her career in inpatient rehabilitation and has since practiced across outpatient neurologic and orthopedic care, neuro wellness, home health, and digital health. Since August 2021, Dr. Lane has served as contributing faculty at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She supports multiple courses as a lead and lab instructor, including Prosthetics and Orthotics, Patient Examination, Neuromuscular 3, Innovation & Technology, and Integrated Clinical Learning, and has contributed to orthotics and prosthetics curriculum development for USA. She has also served as Subject Matter Expert writing curriculum for Prosthetics and Orthotics for University of St. Augustine and Evidence in Motion.
Her scholarly interests include gait analysis, orthotic and prosthetic clinical reasoning, and foot and ankle mechanics. She has published research in this area and presented at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting. Dr. Lane also serves as a board member for Steps 4 Love, a non-profit organization serving the limb loss community.
