DPT Current Students
Bachelor's + DPT Early Assurance Program for Doctor of Physical Therapy through Messiah University for Current Messiah University Students
In order to apply to this program, applicants are required to:
- Submit supplemental application directly to Messiah University School of Graduate Studies Admissions;
- Submit DPT application to PTCAS and receive verification no later than December 1 of the junior year; and
- Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a DPT Program Interview Session
At the time of application to this DPT EAP, applicants must:
- have an overall GPA of at least a 3.5/4.0;
- have a GPA of at least a 3.3/4.0 for the pre-requisite classes , with no more than four science courses with labs outstanding at the time of application;
- Achieved scores of at least 150, 150 and 4.0 on the GREs; and
- Scheduled a DPT EAP interview.
At the time of matriculation to this DPT EAP program, applicants must:
- Have an overall GPA of least a 3.5/4.0;
- Have an overally GPA of at least a 3.3/4.0 in all prerequisite classes; and
- Have successfully completed the DPT EAP interview.
This DPT Early Decision Program (EDP) allows Messiah University undergraduate students of any major to obtain an early decision into the MCSGS DPT Program. Applicants must demonstrate satisfactory completion of these undergraduate courses. Admission decisions are based on a review of each application; however, performance in these prerequisite courses is a significant factor. A grade of C or better must be achieved in each course, with a minimum cumulative prerequisite GPA of 3.3 at the time of EAP application. Note: Unless prior approval is granted these courses must be taken at Messiah University.
- 8 credits of Biology (with labs). This must include BIOL 160
- 8 credits of Anatomy and Physiology (with labs). Either a combined A&P course, or separate courses will be accepted.
- 8 credits of Physics (1 and 2) (with labs)
- 8 credits of Chemistry (1 and 2) (with labs). Chemistry 105 & 106 satisfies this requirement.
- Psychology (3 credits)
- Statistics (3 credits)
- The application for this DPT EAP program may be submitted as early as the summer after the sophomore year.
- The deadline for all application materials is December 1 of the junior year.
- If not accepted into this DPT EAP, the EAP application will be processed in the regular application pool.
- Messiah University students receive preference when applicants are academically/experientially similar.
- Students may not commit to other DPT programs.
- Students who receive a DPT Early Decision acceptance notice are committed to enroll into the Messiah College DPT Program.
