Broadcasting

Messiah’s major in broadcasting offers you a strong understanding of mass media’s constantly changing culture. Building on a strong foundation of communication knowledge, you’ll develop the technical and production skills needed for a career in television or radio.

As a broadcasting major, you’ll:

• Explore courses in media culture, production, writing for mass media, media history, and message construction.

• Apply your broadcast production skills on campus through The Pulse: Media Hub, which includes WVMM 90.7 FM radio (with a 20-mile broadcast radius) and Channel 13 TV, as well as off-campus through a variety of internship opportunities in television, radio, video production, and more.

Spend one required semester at the Messiah College Philadelphia Campus in conjunction with Temple University, where you can take specialized courses in your selected concentration of broadcast production or media studies, as well as pursue internships in the nation’s 3rd largest media market.

Have the opportunity to double-major, minor, study abroad, participate in cross-cultural courses, and gain additional hands-on, practical experience.
