Non-Degree/Act 48

Messiah College graduate coursework is a great option for you if you desire to take graduate level coursework for personal enrichment, professional development or to meet continuing education or licensure requirements, but do not need an advanced degree or certificate. Our non-degree graduate-level courses provide you with the resources to develop skills and abilities that are essential to your continued success. Coursework is offered online and in intensive formats to provide convenience and flexibility to working graduate students. You may earn up to 15 credits as a non-degree seeking student. Subsequent to that, you must apply to become a degree seeking student or pursue a Graduate Certificate.

Certified Pennsylvania Teachers/Act 48

All Graduate Level Courses at Messiah College are PDE approved for Act 48 credit. In addition, Messiah College offers multiple courses that meet the PDE SAS and Inclusive Classrooms requirements. Coursework that meets these requirements can be found on each program’s Curriculum List.

If you desire to receive Act 48 credit, you must complete a Request for Act 48 Credit form upon completion of your course. This form must be completed for each course that is to be submitted for Act 48 credit. Please submit form to

Counselors and State Licensure

As a CACREP accredited program, graduate level coursework from the Messiah College counseling program is a great option if you are a counselor in need of additional coursework to satisfy initial or continuing education state licensure regulations. While we have worked with students from numerous states, we encourage you to confirm that coursework from Messiah College meets your state’s regulations prior to your course of study. In addition, if you already possess a Masters in Counseling and plan to complete more than 12 graduate credits in counseling, the CAGS might be a good option for you.
