Larry and Lois Gladfelter:
The Gladfelters, from Manchester, Pa., first established a relationship with Messiah College when their daughter Lori (Gladfelter ’87) Dudney enrolled. Since her graduation, Larry and Lois have continued to stay interested and involved with Messiah, and as they approached retirement, they decided to include the College in their plans through a charitable remainder trust. By establishing a charitable remainder trust and transferring commercial real estate to this trust, the Gladfelters transformed their business assets into investments that provide retirement income to them for the remainder of their lives and, upon termination of the trust, give financial assistance to future Messiah students.
