DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT PROGRAMS MISSION STATEMENT

The Department of Student Programs is committed to cultivating a welcoming and respectful student-centered learning environment that is inclusive of and responsive to all students, promoting student involvement and providing leadership development opportunities.

The Student Programs staff helps foster student leadership, creativity, enthusiasm and energy that serve as the impetus for the majority of campus programming and student activities. Staff and students partner to plan events and activities. In addition we implement training for student leaders in order to help them reach their group and individual goals.

Department staff provide continuity for student clubs and organizations from year to year and educate students about institution policy. The Department also provides opportunities for students to practice leadership and organizational skills, and encourages students to integrate theory learned in the classroom with leadership practice within a Christian framework.

DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT PROGRAMS OBJECTIVES

1. Prepare students for leadership roles and responsibilities.             
2. Serve as a catalyst for student involvement.
3. Cultivate a welcoming and respectful climate that is inclusive of and responsive to all students.
