Service Day

"We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister." 1 John 4:19-21

Each spring, Messiah University hosts a "Day of Service." Classes are canceled and individuals are invited to serve together as an expression of our faith commitment. Service Day is designed to help fulfill the University's mission to prepare students for "lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society."

Service Day 2027

The 27th annual Service Day will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2027. Motivated by our love for God, we seek to put our faith into action by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors. Projects will take place both on campus and within the surrounding community. Some projects require a commitment of just two hours, while others may involve a full day.
