The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs
(CACREP) has granted accreditation to all three tracks of Messiah College’s M.A. in Counseling program. CACREP is the national accrediting agency for graduate-level degree programs in counselor education that demonstrate prescribed levels of academic and professional excellence.

“CACREP accreditation not only distinguishes Messiah’s M.A. in Counseling program with employers and licensing boards, but it can also streamline significant opportunities for our graduates,” said Dr. John Addleman, director of the graduate program in counseling. “We’re pleased to be able to provide this type of national recognition for our program’s faculty, students and alumni.”

  • Three specialized tracks: clinical mental health counseling; marriage, couple, and family counseling; or school counseling.

  • All program tracks are nationally accredited by CACREP

  • Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling is available to those who need to meet the new PA licensing requirements.

 

  • Program completion time frames ranging from two to six years —select the one that’s right for you.

 

  • Flexible, affordable, and convenient with the majority of courses conducted online combined with just the right amount of traditional classroom and practical experience for your busy life and active schedule.

 

  • Designed to prepare you to sit for your professional counseling licensure exam (LPC), your marriage, and family therapy licensure exam (LMFT), or become a certified school counselor in Pennsylvania.
