AVG Antivirus

ITS has selected AVG Antivirus as the college standard antivirus package. Our license allows for the software to be installed on all college-owned computers, as well as personal computers owned by college employees and current students of the college. To use AVG, follow the instructions in the following sections based on the type of computer you are using:

Messiah-owned computers

Normally, college-owned computers will already have AVG installed on them. If you do not see AVG listed under Programs on your Windows PC, please call Help Desk at x4444 or email them at helpdesk@messiah.edu

Student Computers

Students can have AVG installed for them free by Student Computer Services if needed, please call x5901 for more information.

Home Computers

Your Internet Service Provider may already provide a free Antivirus solution as part of your service. Please feel free to check with them. If, however, they do not, you may download the "Free Edition" of AVG from http://free.avg.com (Be sure to select the FREE Edition as there is also a paid version on that page).

Note: Do not attempt to run more than one Antivirus protection program on your computer at a time as doing so will negatively impact the performance of your computer.
