Microsoft Office Resources

As of January 28, 2010 the College will be discontinuing access to Microsoft Office 2003.

ITS has worked with the three technology committees (Administrative, Educational, and Information Technology Committees) who have all endorsed the idea of retiring MSO 2003. We have settled on the date of January 28, 2010 (another admittedly gentle approach). As of that date, we will also proactively transition copies of MSO 2003 that are still installed locally on desktop computers to MSO 2007.

Microsoft Office Official Web Site

Microsoft Office 2007 is available for purchase at significant educational discount rates for installation on your personal computer. For more information check out our blog post here.

From Microsoft Access to Microsoft Word, this is the place to find an extensive supply of tips, tricks, templates, etc. to make your experience with Microsoft Office productive and efficient.

Microsoft Office 2007

IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft made significant changes in Office 2007 - in both the interface and the file format. If you are creating files in Microsoft Office 2007 that may potentially be shared with users of previous versions of Microsoft Office, be sure to save the file(s) in 97-2003 format or owners of previous versions of MS Office may not be able to open your file(s).

Corel Office Discontinuation

As of January of 2003, final approval was made to no longer use Corel Office as the standard office suite at Messiah College. Given that the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) has become a ubiquitous de facto industry standard, we can no longer retain the WordPerfect Office Suite as the campus standard and users are strongly encouraged to use Microsoft Office. The Microsoft Office Help Center web page will continue to evolve as more online support resources become available.
