With over 30 years of experience in the field of education as a history educator, professional developer, and instructional coach, Karen has taught in public and private K-12 and higher education settings inside and outside the United States where she has honed her skills in disciplinary discourse and historical thinking while also focusing on social, intellectual, and environmental history. Karen is consistently on the lookout for the intersectionality of inquiry, disciplinary literacy, historical thinking, and student empowerment. She currently works as the Interim Director of Residence Life at Messiah University as well as an Adjunct Instructor in the History, Education, and General Education departments on campus. She notes that we must know the past to understand the present in order to impact the future.
