Cherish Hawkins

Cherish Hawkins is a recent Messiah University alum, having earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology, with minors in Communication and Gender Studies. During her time as an undergrad student, she served on the cabinet of Black Student Union, organizing events and programming for the Multicultural Council here on campus. Now as a Graduate Assistant Resident Director, Cherish will be earning her Master’s in Higher Education Leadership here at Messiah as well. Cherish is thrilled to do this alongside serving as the Resident Director of Mellinger and Kelly apartments.

In her free time, Cherish enjoys quality time with her family, reading, and playing video games. She loves spending quality time in the community here at Messiah, going to MCC events, and walking the Fitness Trail. She enjoys intentional conversations about faith, pop culture, and multiculturalism. Cherish is passionate about making connections with students here at Messiah and walking alongside them in their spiritual, professional, and personal growth. She cares deeply for community building, intentionality in connections, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all students here on campus. Cherish is particularly interested in this crucial time period of young adults navigating education, vocation, and independence at this stage of life, all alongside growing their faith and making it personal. She is excited to walk alongside residents to help them succeed in this journey and navigate these complexities throughout their time here at Messiah.
