Job Title : Director of the Early Learning Center
Employer : Mechanicsburg Area School District
Position Description : As the Center Director I oversee the staff (18 employees, including student assistants), and oversee the planning, organizing, and directing of the early childhood education programming for children enrolled in the Center. I serve as a representative and advocate for the Center, and obtain and maintain the Center's license and accreditation statuses. I oversee all major administrative functions of the Center including budget, human resources, facilities, and enrollment as well as present at regional professional development workshops.
In the academic area, I teach ECE 465, ECE 415 each semester and ECE 306 in J-term.
Salary Range : $30,000-$38,000
Previously Held Positions : Elementary school teacher (1 st grade and 3 rd grade), preschool teacher, summer day camp director

How the HDFS Program Has Helped Prepare Her for Work: “Home Economics with the ECE minor provided a private academic school N/K teaching certification, which qualified me for my first job as a preschool teacher. Also, the elective courses in Home Economics have been helpful for the many aspects of my job as Center Director (i.e., Human Relations courses)."
