Welcome from President Kim Phipps

President Kim PhippsPlease join us as we celebrate a significant milestone in Messiah College's history—our 100th anniversary! Throughout the 2009-2010 academic year we will be sharing together as we reflect on our past and dream of the future.

"Shared Faith. Bold Vision. Enduring Promise." is the theme we selected for the Centennial because it emphasizes Messiah's rich heritage, current strength, and future promise. The College's year-long calendar of Centennial events—including lectures, exhibits, symposiums, worship services, concerts, visual and performing arts expressions—and other educational and social events are designed to embody the theme as we commemorate Messiah's first 100 years of educating students toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith.

I am grateful for the dedicated leadership offered by the members of the Centennial Committee, and a host of Messiah employees, students, and community friends who have donated their time and talents to create a memorable celebration that will highlight Messiah's history and commitments while advancing the College's role in preparing the next century of women and men for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation. We are humbly grateful for God's goodness and continued faithfulness to the Messiah College community.

This Centennial website will be continually updated to include new information related to Messiah's Centennial celebration. Please visit often as we approach the launch of the Centennial, which officially begins in August 2009 and concludes with the Centennial Commencement in May 2010. We look forward to your participation.

Warm regards,
