Scholarships

Allianz Scholar Trips International Travel Scholarship
  • Be a legal resident of the US.
  • Be a student over the age of 14 from an accredited high school, trade school, university or college
  • Deadline: TBD
Benjamin Gilman Scholarship
  • Must be a U.S. citizen 
  • Must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant
  • Studying or interning in another country for at least 21 days
  • Deadline: Any 2020 program - October 1, 2019
  • Deadline: Any program in the 2020-2021 academic year - March 3, 2020
CIEE Study Abroad
  • Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Deadline: Fall - April 1
  • Deadline: Spring - October 15
DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship
  • Must be studying in Germany
  • Apply early, applications are typically due a year in advanced 
  • Deadline: varies by scholarship, see website for details
Fund for Education Abroad (FEA)
  • $5,000 per semester and are not limited to specific programs, destinations, or fields of study
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Must plan to study abroad for a minimum of 4 weeks in country
  • Is committed to supporting education abroad in his/her campus community through work with the FEA and his/her campus education abroad staff upon return

Go Overseas

  • Recipients must be accepted into a study abroad program.
  • Go Overseas will judge entries based on creativity, analytical thinking and passion for studying abroad

Hi USA
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
  • Plan to study outside of US between May 15, 2018 and August 31, 2019.
  • Deadline: March 2
International Education Financial Aid (IEFA)
  • This is a great resource for browsing all sorts of scholarships by major, location, and other traits

ISA Diversity Scholarship
  • Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Be enrolled in second or third year of undergraduate education at time of ISA program participation
  • Be accepted to an ISA program
  • Along with the scholarship application, the following items are required to be considered for an award: college transcripts, essay, resume, and supporting financial aid documents. For full eligibility and application requirements, follow the scholarship link

ISA Dr. Carlos E. Castaneda Memorial Scholarship

  • Have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA
  • Be enrolled in second or third year of undergraduate education at time of ISA program participation
  • Have completed at least one year of college level foreign language or the equivalent (Courses must appear on official transcript)
  • Be on financial aid

Italia Rail Scholarship Program
  • Must study in Italy
  • $1,000 Scholarship

JUC Semester Long Scholar
  • Open to any student applying to study at JUC  for a semester.
  • Scholarship application should be submitted along with the JUC application.
National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarship
  • Must be studying outside of Western Europe. Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Preference given to students studying for a full year
  • Deadline: February 5, 2020
PA Council for International Education - Asia
  • Must be an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student who is attending a university or college in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Students applicants should be seeking to participate in a global learning experience in Asia in 2019. The global learning experience can be:
    • Short-term faculty-led program (10 days - 8 weeks) 
    • Semester or full year study abroad program
    • International internship (6 weeks minimum) 
    • International scholarly research (4 weeks minimum) 
  • Deadline: March 1, 2019
PA Council for International Education - ISA
  • Students must be enrolled full-time at a high school, college or university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • The scholarships may be utilized to participate in a summer or semester ISA program, including internships, service-learning or study options. 
  • Students may submit their scholarship and program applications simultaneously.
  • Deadline: Fall - April 15
  • Deadline: Spring - October 15

  • Currently (or within the next year) attending an accredited university or college (undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible)

TEMPLE Education Abroad
  • Recipients must be enrolled as a full-time, matriculated undergraduate at the time of application
  • Applicant must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at Temple University Rome; demonstrate financial need
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Deadline: Fall - April 1
  • Deadline: Spring - October 1
Tortuga Backpacks Study Abroad
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or student visa holder
  • Have applied to or been accepted into a study abroad program eligible for credit by your college or university
  • Deadline: December 20
Western Union Scholarship
  • Must be pursuing a degree/field of study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business/entrepreneurship
