Create links in Canvas (stable URLs) for articles, e-books, streaming videos, and more

Using permalinks from PRIMO are recommended for embedding or sharing links to library e-resources.

Faculty are responsible for ensuring that their course materials comply with copyright law. Creating links to online resources instead of copying the files is one way of ensuring copyright compliance.

IMPORTANT!  For directly linking to a database (Not PRIMO)

  1. To enable off-campus access to Murray Library's online resources, every link must be preceded by Messiah's ezproxy information:  http://ezproxy.messiah.edu/login?url= (the equals = symbol must be included).
  2. Databases vary in the way they provide stable URLs.  See database or publisher-specific directions below.
  3. Click HERE to watch this video on creating links for library resources and embedding them in Canvas.

  • Click on the PDF link and copy the URL in the address bar
  • Add  Messiah's ezproxy http://ezproxy.messiah.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the article URL (the equals = symbol must be included)
