What is the Saturday Art School at Messiah University?

Saturday Art School is designed for students in grades 6-12 to come and explore art-making. No previous experience is necessary. The classes run from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, 2021. Students will have the opportunity to explore ideas through a variety of contemporary and traditional media, techniques and approaches. This year's theme is Branching Out in Art. Students will explore various techniques including carving, weaving, digital illustration, light & sculpture, narrative art and more!

Who teaches the classes?

Classes are taught by advanced Messiah University art education students in collaboration with Department of Art and Design faculty.

How do I register my child?

Online registration will open in September at messiah.edu/saturdayartschool. Confirmation of registration will be made by phone or email. Additional information about the workshops will be emailed to you in mid-October. Classes fill quickly, so register early to avoid disappointment.

What does it cost to register?

Cost is $40 ($10 per workshop). This covers all art supplies, fees and snacks. Full and partial scholarships are available.
