Messiah University extends college decision timeline amidst federal financial aid challenges

Messiah University announced today its plan to shift its decision timeline to provide students with additional time to navigate complexities of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. Students are encouraged to finalize their college decisions and submit deposits by June 1, extending the previous date of May 1.

This adjustment comes in response to the challenges and delays experienced with FAFSA submissions this year. Recognizing the significance of financial aid in students' college choices, Messiah University aims to alleviate the pressure by offering an extended timeline for decision-making.

"We understand the difficulties students and families are facing with the FAFSA this year," says John Chopka, vice president for enrollment management. "By extending our decision timeline, we hope to provide students with the necessary flexibility to make well-informed choices about their college education."

Amidst these challenges, Messiah University reaffirms its commitment to serving families not only during the admissions process but also throughout their entire college experience. The university remains dedicated to providing support and guidance to students as they embark on their academic journeys.

Students are encouraged to explore the next steps to becoming a Messiah falcon by visiting the Accepted Student Resource page at messiah.edu/accepted. As always, students may connect with their dedicated admissions counselor as they navigate questions around the financial aid process.
