For Kevin Gin’07, a philosophy major during his time at Messiah University, his career had a more unique path. Gin, a software engineer at Google, first fell in love with philosophy at Messiah University, but he redirected his career focus to computer programming by the age of 30.

      I was sitting in my Economics class when my phone went off and, like any nineteen-year-old, my attention quickly shifted from the supply and demand graphs we were discussing to an Instagram notification. I was shocked to see a message request from Bleacher Report. The popular sports site was asking to repost a video I shared a day earlier on TikTok of me throwing a football over my house and running around to the other side and catching it. The original video was up to about 60K views at the time, which I considered excellent, but that was only the beginning.

      Community Picnic Night is a COVID-19 guideline-friendly space for students to meet new people and enjoy the outdoors. We hope to make this an agenda-free hour to have good conversations and expand beyond your current circle of people. Please bring your own food and something to sit on!

      Would you like to make your own version of this popular Spotify glass art? SAB’s got you covered! If you are interested in participating, YOU MUST SIGN UP! Signups will occur at the SILP desk (second floor of the Union) starting at 4pm today. When you sign up, you will be asked to provide the following information: Song you would like to use Album the song appears on If you would like to include the Spotify code on your glass Because supplies are limited, this activity is limited to 25 participants. Materials will be available for pickup in the SAB office (also on the second floor of the Union, down the hall) on Saturday at 7pm. Bring them back to your dorm or apartment and enjoy a fun night of crafting with friends! A tutorial video will be provided.
