The Messiah University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Timothy Dixon, collaborate with composer Jonathan Ragonese, and Messiah faculty William Stowman (trumpet), and Erik Forst (percussion) to perform the the world premiere of a double concerto on the theme of reconciliation. The concert will also feature the Symphony No. 1 (“Afro-American”) by William Grant Still (often referred to as the “Dean of African-American Composers”) and George Walker, the first Black composer to win the Pulitzer prize in music. Sponsored by the Office of the President and the School of Arts, Culture and Society.
