Museum

In addition to documents, photographs, and other paper materials, the archives also houses over 1,400 artifacts from church life. Many of these artifacts are on display in the archives; all are available for researcher use. Additionally, researchers may search for artifacts from the archives using our online catalog.

A small physical exhibit space highlights various items from this collection. Virtual exhibits documenting various aspects of church and college life are currently under construction.

Physical Exhibits

Sr. Smith Display

The archives features a rotating exhibit of materials from its various collections.

The current exhibit highlights the life and work of two Brethren in Christ pioneers: Samuel R. Smith (1853-1916) and Sarah R. Bert (1860-1948). Smith was the founder and first president of Messiah Bible School and Missionary Training Home (now Messiah College), and Bert was an early Brethren in Christ missionary who served for many years at the denomination's Chicago Mission.

The exhibit features materials from the archives collections that illustrate the lives of service, sacrifice, and determination led by these pioneer leaders.

Many of the materials on display in this exhibit can also be found in our digital collection.
