FREE! Every other Wednesday night in the Union!

Mark your calendars for this Friday night, May 4th, at 7pm we will be starting our B-Sides Bash! FIRST, we will be having a little partaay outside the Union where there will be food and student openers starting at 7pm. THEN, bring yourselves inside for the B-Sides starting at 9pm. Performing will be "The Stolen"-- they're an alternative pop rock band from Old Bridge, NJ consisting of Dom Cuce, Rob Chiarappa, Kevin Smart, and Mike Chiarappa. Below are some more details. We can't wait to see you there!

The Stolen: The band's nostalgic sound of late 80's new
wave rock blended with modern indie pop is nothing less of intriguing. Since forming, the band has provided direct support for acts like Neon Trees and The All-American Rejects. In addition,
The Stolen has made appearances at festivals like Vans Warped Tour, South By So What, and Skate and Surf. The quartet released their sophomore EP 'I'm So Dead' in 2016, which caught the attention of many including MTV, who claimed that the EP "is the perfect pop-alt soundtrack to take you into the summer season." In May of 2017, The Stolen put out their newest release titled 'Fragile Heart' which includes the groups most representative tracks to date including "Euphoric" and "West Coast". The band is currently embarking on a national tour in support of the new release of "Fragile Heart".

SIDE NOTE: if you're musically talented and interested in opening for a B-Sides, contact our B-Sides exec., Hannah Grubb (email at the bottom).

B-Sides showcases under-the-radar bands in a wide variety of genres. The goal of these shows is to provide entertainment while introducing students to new ideas, styles, and cultures in popular music. Although the bands are relatively unknown, we hope students will embrace the opportunity to engage with their music. While B-Sides are presented as live entertainment, the shows should also be a thought-provoking event. Because of this distinction, we are very conscious about the bands we bring. As with all SAB entertainment, we select acts based on four criteria: artistic merit, cultural significance, truth communicated, and appropriateness. We make no distinction between non-Christian and Christian artists, but we apply these criteria equally to both.  If you know of a musician you've heard that might fit these criteria, please let us know. We love to get recommendations, input, and feedback, because the shows aren't for us, they're for you! Many B-Sides acts have come from student requests, and we try our best to evaluate every band brought to our attention.
