The Basic School Network

The Basic School Network connects over one hundred schools committed to the Basic School vision. This international network advances the four priorities of the Basic School: the school as community, a curriculum with coherence, a climate for learning, and a commitment to character. By sharing information and practices, schools that have successfully incorporated Basic School principles inspire other schools to do the same. The Ernest L. Boyer Center provides a "virtual hub" for the Basic School Network, offering a place where educators can easily access scholarship and make connections between colleagues with whom to share ideas.

Network for Vocational Exploration in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE)

NetVUE is a nationwide network of colleges and universities committed to enriching the intellectual and theological exploration of vocation among undergraduate students. This initiative is administered by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) with generous support from the Lilly Endowment Inc. and members' dues. Messiah University is a founding member of NetVUE, and has been both a strong contributor to NetVUE as well as benefitted from a wide variety resources and connections associated with membership. The Ernest L. Boyer Center serves as the administrative home for Messiah University’s NetVUE membership, with the Center’s Director serving as the NetVUE Campus Coordinator. There are conceptual alignments between the Center’s mission to be a good steward of the Boyer legacy and NetVUE’s aim to “educate future leaders who are theologically literate, whose attitudes and behaviors are shaped by their values and commitments, and who are eager to sustain a life of service that is guided by a sense of calling."
