Events and Opportunities
All members of the Community of Educators are cordially invited to the professional development events scheduled for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Christian Scholarship Colloquies are conversational events designed to encourage reflection about connecting faith and learning, trends in higher education, and timely topics that affect the work we do as educators. All full-time members of the COE are invited to attend. Colloquies are held in the Private Dining Room in Eisenhower Campus Center, where a buffet lunch is served. Space is limited, so a separate reservation for each colloquy is required. Please contact the Office of Faculty Development at email@example.com or phone extension 2720 to RSVP.
Several times throughout the semester, faculty are invited to join together for conversation and community building. Dates, times, and locations will be announced via email. No reservations are required – simply come as you will and leave when you must!
A Celebration of Faculty Scholarship provides a venue to highlight the scholarly and artistic work of faculty, learn about others' work, and for all to celebrate our scholarly contributions as an educational community. Faculty whose work has been published, performed, or presented at a conference, disciplinary meeting, dissertation defense, or other comparable venue since last December are invited to contribute their work. This celebration replaces the previous Accolades in the Athenaeum, New Doc's Tea, and Author's Exhibit events.
Each May, in the week following Commencement, the Office of the Provost and Office of Faculty Development offer development opportunities in teaching, scholarship, and service, as well as on themes related to college initiatives, like digital proficiency and inclusive excellence.
