The Department of Nursing facilities, which are located in the Kline Hall of Science, include state-of-the-art advanced simulation labs, a maternal-child lab, a psychiatric-mental health lab, two basic skills labs, and a physical assessment lab.

Health Assessment Lab in Kline hall basement.

Kline 014 Health Assessment Lab

The Health Assessment Laboratory serves as a classroom and laboratory setting. The room accommodates 28 students and is equipped with physical examination tables and privacy curtains. This room is used for our Health Assessment course and other clinical courses.

Basic lab in Kline hall basement.

Kline 005 Basic Lab

The Basic Lab is equipped with four patient care units. Each unit is equipped with a fully functioning head wall, a bedside stand, an over-the-bed table and a fully functioning hospital bed. All equipment used is up-to-date and fully functional. Equipment includes: ventilators, IV pumps, enteral feeding pumps, patient controlled analgesic pumps, syringe pumps, defibrillators, cardiac monitors, sequential compression devices, computerized medication dispensers and transfer lifts. Low and medium fidelity simulators are used in this lab. This laboratory is used for clinical nursing courses.

Maternal child lab in Kline hall basement.

Kline 004 Maternal-Child Lab

The Maternal-Child Laboratory is equipped with a Labor/Delivery room, Post-partum room and a pediatric unit. High fidelity simulators are used to provide realistic hands-on experiences. Equipment used in this lab is fully functional newborn and  pediatric equipment. This laboratory is used for maternity and pediatric courses.

Mental health lab in Kline hall basement.

Kline 004B Mental Health Lab

The Mental Health Lab consists of an interview room with a one-way mirror adjacent to an AV/Observation room. It is in this lab that students practice therapeutic communication, health history-taking and mental health counseling sessions.

Simulation labs located on the first floor of Kline hall.

Kline 106 A, C & E

Our 3 simulation labs house high-fidelity simulators. Each of the rooms are designed to simulate a hospital patient care room and are equipped with fully operational up-to-date equipment. A high tech AV lab, situated in the center of the labs, allows faculty to operate, interact, and evaluate the simulation experience. These labs are used to provide students with realistic hands-on simulations from sophomore to senior years.
