ELI Off-Campus Program Information

Semester-Long Program ELI Student Information

*NOTE: Failure to complete these requirements will result in receiving an incomplete for your ELI*

The Semester Before:

  • Draft some possible learning objectives
  • Meet with your ELI advisor
  • Participate in all of the pre-departure orientation sessions: *Sessions marked wit and asterisk * are not required for students in domestic programs
    • Logistics of Off-Campus Study
    • Cross-Cultural Adjustment and Communication*
    • Health & Safety in an International Environment*
    • Growing Globally: Spiritual, Professional and Personal Development
  • Submit your Faith Integration Plan (for nonfaith-based programs only)

While Off-Campus:

  • Finalize your ELI learning objectives (all students need to upload learning objectives into Terra Dotta, and confirm these with their ELI advisors by September 15 in the fall semester and February 15 in the spring semester)
  • Confirm with your advisor what your career application/final reflective assignment will be (by September 15 in the fall semester and February 15 in the spring semester)
  • Respond to ELI reflection questions (all students need to record answers in Terra Dotta by December 15 in the fall semester and May 15 in the spring semester)
  • Connect with your ELI advisor during your semester
  • Complete 6 faith journal entries (for nonfaith-based programs only)
  • Complete learning outcomes and reflection the end of your experience

Upon Return:

  • Complete your career application/final reflective assignment (all students need to upload links in Terra Dotta by December 15 for the fall semester and by May 15 for the spring semester)
    • ePortfolio
    • Blog
    • Personal website
    • Other creative assignment (must be approved by your ELI advisor)
  • Discuss your career application/final reflective assignment with your ELI advisor and receive their feedback
  • Attend the re-entry retreat
