A word from the director

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Agape Center! We invite you to navigate through our site using the tabs on the left-hand side and welcome any questions or information by emailing

The Agape Center serves as a hub for service learning—both curricular and co-curricular—in local, national and international settings. With a strong team of professionals and students coordinating educational programs and opportunities for students to serve, the Agape Center buzzes with student passion for their community, for marginalized and vulnerable populations, and for pursuing Gospel-centered living in our world. Students engage in credit-bearing service-learning courses, “plunge” days, initiatives with Downey Elementary in Harrisburg, programming about human rights issues, local community service, justice-related conferences, and international and domestic service trips.

From these experiences, we hope students deepen their faith, commitment to justice, and understanding of the world. We too hope that our community partners benefit from sustained relationships and from earnest, authentic service. We are thankful for the commitment Messiah University maintains to service, to our community and world, and are humbled to be part of its greater story.
