"Native American Identity in the 21st Century" (Honors Program)

To mark Native American Heritage Month, Dr. R. David Edmunds will speak on "Moving with the Seasons, Never Fixed in Stone: Native American Identity in the 21st Century" on Thursday, November 17th at 7:00 p.m. in Parmer Hall.

Dr. Edmunds is Watson Professor of American History at the University of Texas-Dallas and one of the foremost Native American historians today. He is the author or editor of ten books and over a hundred articles or essays on American history, the American West, and Native American history and culture. He has also made many public contributions, serving as a consultant to documentary film producers, advising several museums and National Park Service sites, and consulting the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma, the Saginaw Chippewas of Michigan, and the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska in land claims cases.
