Healthy Planet & Sustainability Initiatives

Messiah University is committed to being a good steward of the earth. We have moved to a tray-less meal system in Lottie which has reduced food waste and decreased water usage and energy costs. Compostable food waste is shared with the Sustainability Collaboratory for use in the gardens throughout campus.  When possible, we purchase locally grown produce to support local farmers and decrease fuel costs for shipping products across the country. In addition, we use recycled products, save paper by switching to electronic communications, and recycle materials whenever possible.
