Meet LaVonne
Hometown: Owings, MD
Degree: International Business, Minor in Music
Why I love Messiah: Messiah constantly draws me in with its dedication to community. Both the students and the faculty tend to be warm, genuine, and friendly people who are always open to bringing you into their community. If I could describe Messiah as a feeling, it would be safe and home-like.
My friends would describe me as: Very out-going, friendly, and caring
Favorite spot on Messiah’s campus: The Larsen Student Union. It’s a central hub for all students as there is a dining café, and usually hosts a lot of our school events. If you need a place where you’re surrounded by people, this is a great option, but if you’re looking for quiet companionship, it’s easy to find isolated spots from the crowds as well.
Favorite meal served in Lottie Nelson Dining: I love garlic parmesan wings or warm cookie day
Best place to visit around Messiah: Downtown Harrisburg is such a nice place to go. I found some of my favorite coffee and food spots here. It’s also a really nice place to go take walks, whether that’s past all of the businesses to see all of the murals, or down by the water.
